We at Howl-A-Day Pet Resort are committed to offering the best pet care available, and want to work along with you, the pet owner, to make sure we accomplish that goal.
About the Owners
My name is Heather LaClair and I have been an owner since July of 2003. I have worked in the kennel business and as a veterinary assistant since 1995. I was previously
co-owner and manager of an 86 run lower Michigan facility. In 2001, I completed the Certified Kennel Operator educational program through the American Boarding Kennels Association, a three step program which tested me on the proper care of dogs and cats, management of a kennel facility, and prevention of illness. After spending five years building the business and working long hours away from my family, I decided I would like to get into a smaller, more family-friendly setting, so I sold my shares to my former partner and moved here, where I put all my effort into building Howl-A-Day into a great place for pets. I am married and have two wonderful daughters who often help out at the kennel.
I'm Beth Stigleman, and my kennel experience began in Cincinnati, Ohio. After many years of providing customer service to people, I discovered my real career providing the same for pets and their parents. On a mission to find the perfect boarding kennel to purchase in 2006, I found Heather and Howl-A-Day, and moved to Midland with my husband Marty to join the company in 2007. Our business partnership and friendship has been a dream come true, and we love having the chance to know every single pet; to us they are each unique, just like our many furry children at home.
We strongly believe in providing excellent service and making sure your pets are healthy and happy, as we would want our own pets to be. We offer activities in addition to boarding, which keep your pets' stress level low and provide a positive environment reminiscent of home. We make sure all dogs have ample time in our fenced grassy yards to fill their daily needs. Our facility has heated floors in the winter and is air-conditioned in the summer, yet your dog still has continuous access to their outside area due to clear, insulated flaps on the doggie doors that keep the inside temperature regulated. Cats stay in a temperature-controlled room of their own in quiet condos, and take turns using comfortable community space with windows facing both the lobby and outside bird feeders.
We would be very happy to meet you and your pets, so please feel free to stop out and tour our facility anytime during our regular business hours. A visit prior to their first boarding will do a lot to give you knowledge of and peace of mind about our pet care philosophy, and will give your pets the opportunity to recognize us and our environment when they do come to stay. We expect questions, so don't be shy!
